• THOC Limited Edition Paddle - Camo

“What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other.”

Pierre Elliot Trudeau*, Patriot, Paddler, Prime Minister of Canada for 15 years

The canoe is an iconic Canadian symbol. What could be more peaceful than being on the water and enjoying nature? Aboriginal people in Canada depended on the canoe for every facet of their life and European settlers quickly discovered the elegance of this type of boat. In Canada, the birch bark canoe was most typically used because the wood was light, smooth, sturdy and waterproof. As well, birch trees were growing almost everywhere.
Today, canoes are made of molded plastic or fiberglass. They are lightweight and durable and paddles can be much lighter than the traditional wooden ones of the past. THOC has a limited edition paddle for sale - this one’s for the water but also for you to enjoy as art in your home.
